I am into software and want to grow from my present level to a nice higher position?

I am into software and based in India ,
I want to grow from my present level to a nice higher position.
what are the ways to achieve this.
will higher education help like MBA? but i cannot pursue MBA fulltime, and
I have heard that part time MBA does not have as much value.
How about career in software marketting?
Currently I am into Software development using C++, VC++, MFC, I am planning to move to .Net? Please guide me!
